AZ HOA Mgmt falls down again
Another Scam at Hacienda Real HOA
Residents - Have your read your CC&Rs? These specifically state that the HOA is responsible for painting, repairing, replacing gutters, downspouts, exterior building surfaces, trees, shrubs, walks, fences and other exterior improvements.
Thus, the letter sent 11/1/2010 by Maureen Watrous which attempts to pin homeowners with the expense of beehive issues on scupper is in error. It appears Ms. Watrous has not herself read the Hacienda Real CC&Rs. Kind of important when you want to be called property manager.
One of my scuppers grew a hive, and when I noticed it, I called in a pest control company, Blue Sky Pest Control. They recommended a cut out, to remove the hive. Because I had read the CC&Rs, I knew it was the responsibility of the HOA, so I contacted Ms. Watrous. She refused to use the company I had contacted, but contacted another company, Atomic Pest Control. I asked Ms. Watrous for a copy of the invoice, and she ignored my request.
After Christmas vacation and a rainstorm, I came home to find walls and ceiling buckled and leaking, with a lot of interior damage. I called the roofer, who immediately went up and said the beehive had grown and completely blocked the scupper.
I called Atomic, and they said they had inspected the area and recommended a cut out to remove the hive as well, but the service was declined by Ms. Watrous.
Ms. Watrous failed to properly treat the beehive, and as a result, this will cost the HOA more money as I now am enlisting an attorney.
If the Hacienda Real Board were wise, they would get a professional HOA Management service.
